i do feel the fact that whisper has now also got this, but it does serve a useful pourpose.

it stops idoits spamming rude/offensive items, or real world trading.

even though whisper does have it, it as a much shorter time delay, if you whish to have a convo, try that.

I have to agree with AhuraMazda, since they put that supression thing there I can't have a proper conversation with my friends anymore without being compressed like a million times. Its fkn annoying.

Remove it anet.

Remove it from everything but local and trade. I've been annoyed to death by my chats in Guild and whispers being interrupted by this. Very, very annoying. For local and trade though it does hold some purpose.

And make a five minute conversation into an hour long one.

The message supression has been bugging the holy hell out of me since they first slammed it into med-high gear a few weeks back. I'm a fast typer who also uses vivid descriptions as to make sure the other party understands exactly what I mean.

Before the suppression, I was cranking out max length messages every few seconds, getting large amounts of valuable information to multiple parties. After the supression, I have to type like... Well, someone who isn't me. I've even had friends think I was somebody else! It's bloody annoying. I can't get the same quantity of information to others without taking 4 times as long or more to do it, and even then it's harder for them to understand it.

I understand the need for spam protection but seriously.. Isn't there any other way to do it (query to ArenaNet)? I read in this thread that "WTS" can no longer be typed in Local Chat. If this is so, why not just spend some time gathering keywords that spammers would use and block those from certain chat tabs? Not sure if I was descriptive enough there because my entire typing psyche is out of whack now...

I'm sure most of us appreciate the effort guys. I sure do. But please, alter your course a bit and try something else; the current system does help kill spam but it also causes undue stress upon players who are just trying to communicate with others. By eliminating one form of communication and not offering another one, well.. You risk losing even more players. You haven't exactly eliminated our chatter yet, but what you have done is limited it to a point where quite a few of us wont bother because of how frustrating it is.

I've got faith in ya still A-Net. Absolutely loving Factions, and eagerly awaiting Chapter 3. Show us what you're made of and blow us all away with this

fiery does it again lol. heres the problem with your comment fiery. im in a mission a guildy types to me and i type back but then add something right quick so i can continue with my message. excessive messaging now i have to type it again. excessive messaging should not be in guild chat nor should it be in a whisp as for if someone is spamming you in whisper it is called ignore.

ya, its very annoying... especially when you're trying to get your party's attention... it's kinda hard when some of those people don't pay attention to chat often...

anyways here's an off-topic suggestion (well sorta off-topic): create a new tab for party forming... that takes out alot of spam from pub chat =) well if everyone uses it that is... =)

You see, it can be very annoying to have your message

your message has been supressed due to excessive messaging.

and THAT is why it should be

your message has been supressed due to excessive messaging.

If you really wanted it fixed, you would care - Anet is more likely to notice 1 gigantic thread than 500 threads from people who cannot look through the Index thread, or at least the first couple pages of suggestions.
